Synopsis: A website designing company approached by Select Lettings to develop a fully bespoke, property lettings website for the private market, solely aimed at offering landlords the ability to advertise their homes to let for a competitive fee, on a professional and search engine visible website.
Having developed previous property portals and content management systems, we were happy to get stuck into the project. From the first pixel to the last, the company was tasked with the design and creation of the company's logo and brand guidelines, the website interface structure and finally the development of the backend application on PHP and MySQL.
Launched in early 2010, the website features a fully scalable and indexable structure, essential to the success of such an ambitious project entering a highly competitive market. Each and every page, property listing and search result URL is rewritten to a hierarchical, common-sense based structure, allowing full indexing by the likes of Google, Yahoo and Bing. Searching can be performed by entire country, region, county, town and postcode, essentially meaning viewers looking for properties can find their ideal next home quickly and simply.
Members can register to the website to gain access to a host of free tools such as tenant and landlord matching, weekly email updates and customisable profiles. Each landlord has their own dedicated homepage featuring only their properties, essentially meaning they can promote their Select Lettings homepage onto stationery, advetisements or redirect a website domain name to their homepage - in short, they have a professional website of their own without additional charge!
