Synopsis:The Brief
Southwark Council required a colourful and challenging website design to help promote their Children's Specialist Services department job vacancies to like minded professionals who worked in the social services industry.
Unlike projects for a client of this nature, they were keen to have a site that was designed to catch the eye, break the mold and give the local government an image that portrayed a culture of moving forward, dynamic thinking and a great place to work.
The Solution
Seeing that the "brand shackles' were off, the website designing company was happy to get to work on a design that complimented their campaign posters that stated "We're Always With You" and use brash colours, abstract design and an illustrative style unique to them and them alone.
It was also supplied with a huge library of interview footage by current staff which was used as a means to illustrate real working life at the council and get opinions expressed by those who have been there for some time. The resulting site is far more personal, honest and insightful and for such a subject matter as social care, is there really any other way to approach this? The company thought not.
The Outcome
The site has attracted users in their droves and many posts have been filled through the promotion the site has achieved. More job postings are planned for the future and the site is now being regarded as the central place for the Southwark council to advertise their social services roles for the upcoming months.
